Cleansing the face is the first and fundamental step in the skin care routine. If this step is not performed correctly, our skin will feel the long-term effects.
Our skin is a perfect system, the first line of defense against the external effects of the environment. In order for this defense function to work as well as possible, we must take care of it responsibly.
One of the important pillars of the skin's defense function is the appropriate pH, which is maintained by the skin's acid-base mantle (the skin's natural pH is around 5-5.5, necessary for the skin microbiome).
If the skin does not receive the necessary care and protection, this perfect system can be easily disturbed. Although the skin requires thorough cleansing, it is important that the cleansing products are gentle so that they do not damage the skin's surface emulsion and protective barrier, and do not alter the pH.
The first step of the almost double cleanse is the biphasic micellar solution, which effectively removes impurities accumulated on the skin throughout the day, make-up and sunscreen residues. In the oil phase, oat oil and castor oil predominate, accompanied by a splash of vitamin E. Oat oil, rich in ceramides, is essential for the skin (especially for sensitive skin), and castor oil, being an oil viscous, dissolves pigments and oil-based products well, facilitating cleaning. Both oils have a soothing effect on the skin and help with thorough cleansing.
The aqueous phase contains a mixture of sugar surfactants, which clean gently but thoroughly. Unlike aggressive surfactants, which clean well but can damage the skin in the long term and cause dryness due to water loss, these surfactants also have a moisturizing effect. One of its main ingredients is glyceroyl oleate, a biolipid found in the protective layer of fetal skin, Vernix Caseosa (or fetal smegma), which contains 1.1 µg/ml of glyceroyl monooleate. This biolipid is one of our gentle cleansing ingredients that simultaneously nourishes and hydrates the skin.
