As a Gen Y researcher, my goal with the almost 1,618 team was to create a conscious skincare brand focused on active ingredients, where the formulas are made using modern, green and environmentally friendly technologies.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid/L-Ascorbic Acid) is an extremely versatile and effective vitamin, but in this form, its chemical structure is unstable: it is sensitive to light, heat and air, which leads to rapid oxidation and decomposition. It can cause irritation, redness or burning, especially in people with sensitive skin, and can lead to dark comedones due to oxidation.

Thanks to cosmetic chemists, effective vitamin C derivatives such as MAP vitamin C and Ethyl Ascorbic Acid are chemically stable and preferred in cosmetics. They are powerful antioxidants, stimulate collagen production, improve skin structure, reduce redness and inhibit melanin production, preventing pigment spots. They do not require a very low pH and do not need to be kept in the refrigerator, being gentle on the skin, so they can be used even by people with more sensitive skin.

Copper PCA, the blue super ingredient

Copper PCA, i.e. pyroglutamate, is a versatile ingredient with antibacterial and astringent properties, regulates sebum production and fights clogged pores. Due to its excellent moisturizing and soothing properties, it is one of the most promising ingredients. PCA copper has a slightly blue tint.
